(10/25/97)HOAR _ Charles Edward Hoar, most beloved husband of Jean, and loving father of Kevin and Shauna, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital. Besides his immediate family, he leaves behind his loving sister Margaret Finnson and her husband Bill; a niece Charlene and her husband Dave; and four nephews, Daryl and his wife Shirley, Mike, Greg and Bradley. He is also survived by his ailing mother-in-law Flora McLenaghan. Charlie was born in Innisfail on August 19, 1936, to the late Charles and Kate Hoar. He came to Calgary in 1957 where he acquired his welding ticket at SAIT. He then met and married Jean in 1958. Charlie worked for Cockshutt, Trailmobile and Coutt's in Calgary. Quickly, Charlie's entrepreneurial spirit took over and he started Apex Welding in 1965. He eventually took the business and moved to the country, where he started boarding and raising horses. His and Jean's love and enjoyment of horses led to the birth of Rockalta Stables in 1975 which he held until 1981. The family then moved three miles north to their present home where he established his successful business known as Rock Alta Trailers. Family and friends have happy memories of the good times they shared with Charlie, remembering especially his good nature and infectious laughter. Charlie was also admired for his honesty and his sheer sense of decency. He will be forever loved by family and friends and sadly missed indeed. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel" (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Sunday, October 26, 1997 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's "Crowfoot Chapel", on Monday, October 27, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Family Graveside Service to follow at the Cochrane Cemetery.
