      5) Jeremiah, b. ca 1653; d. 1756 according to Autsin; m (1) Mary Clarke b ca 1668 dau of Jeremiah Clarke (b 1643) & Ann Audley (ba 1647); m (2) Sarah Clarke b ca 1677 sister of Mary. On 17 Sep 1719 Jeremiah Weeden received a deed from his father-in-law Jeremiah Clarke for land in Providence providing for annual payments to Jeremiah Clarke of his wife Ann during their lives. In the "History of the Baptists in R.I." published in "R.I. Historical Collections" Vol. 6 p. 336-337 it is stated that the Second Church of Newport in Farewell street "... originated in 1665 when the following persons broke off from the First Church of Newport:... Jeremiah Weeden..." Assuming this Jeremiah Weeden to have been at least 21 to have broken off, then he would have been born 1644 or before. This taken with Austin's death date of 1756 leaves unresolved questions."
