  Obituary: Katherine Hoar; nurse, volunteer: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Hartford Courant, The (CT) - November 6, 1992 Deceased Name: Katherine Hoar; nurse, volunteer Katherine Price Hoar of New Britain, a registered nurse who served in a field hospital in France during World War I, died Wednesday at a local convalescent home. Mrs. Hoar served on the boards of the Visiting Nurse Association and the YWCA in New Britain for many years. She was a hospital volunteer and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was born in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1917. She moved to New Britain in 1921. Mrs. Hoar was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the Shuttle Meadow Country Club, the New Britain Garden Club, the College Club and the Women's Club. She leaves a daughter, Carol Stout of Berlin; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, New Britain. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery in Berlin at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
