      Oliver Alvin Shank
      MILROY - Oliver Alvin Shank, 79, of 1358 Siglerville Pike, Milroy, died at 1:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at his residence.
      Born Jan. 27, 1921, in Milroy, he was a son of the late Oliver Andrew and Florence C. (Baker) Shank. His wife, Willa J. (Nale) Shank, whom he married Aug. 27, 1941, survives.
      Also surviving are: children, A. Leslie Shank and Daryl N. Shank, both of Milroy; brothers and sisters, Marlin T. Shank, Mrs. Gardner (Jane) Glass, Mrs. Harry (Erma) Nale, Mrs. Foster (Ruth) Hoar, and Kenneth E. Shank, all of Milroy, Alda B. Wilson, Peoria, Ariz., David R. Shank, Conneaut, Ohio, and Mrs. Richard (Donna) Briner, Royersford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen A. Shank.
      He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Siglerville.
      He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
      He was employed by Standard Steel for over 30 years.
      He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lewistown, the Milroy American Legion, and the Siglerville Grange.
      Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Rosalie N. Smith and the Rev. Robert B. Harnish officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery, Siglerville.
      Friends were received 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 13, 1915, in Milroy, he was the son of the late Oliver Andrew and Florence C. (Baker) Shank. His wife, Helen P. (Stover) Shank, whom he married Oct. 5, 1940, survives. Also surviving are; children, Larry M. Shank, Strodes Mills, Gary T. Shank, Reedsville, Regina Ann Peachey, Belleville, Jeffrey L. Shank, Milroy, and Robin T. Shank, Milroy; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Gardner (Jane) Glass, Milroy, Alda B. Wilson, Peoria, AZ, Mrs. Harry (Erma) Nale, Milroy, Mrs. Foster (Ruth) Hoar, Milroy, David R. Shank, Conneaut, OH, Kenneth E. Shank, Milroy, and Mrs. Richard (Donna) Briner, Sun Lakes, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Glen A. Shank and Oliver Alvin Shank. He was employed as a dairyman at the Malta Home and was a self- employed farmer. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Siglerville. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Pastor Rosalie N. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.       CONNEAUT, Ohio ? David R. Shank Sr., 71, of Conneaut, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, Ohio.
      He was born June 17, 1931, in Milroy, son of the late Oliver and Florence Baker Shank. He had been a Conneaut resident for 31 years.
      He was employed as plant manager at Plycraft before retiring in 1995.
      He was a U.S. Army veteran.
      A former member of the Elks Club, he enjoyed hunting, auto racing and working on his farm.
      He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Mark Shank; and three brothers, Glen, Marlin and Alvin Shank.
      Survivors include his wife, Thelma Bartlett Shank, whom he married Sept. 8, 1949; two sons, David R. Shank Jr. of North Kingsville, Ohio, and Timothy S. Shank of Conneaut; five sisters, Alda Wilson and Donna Brinner, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruth Hoar, Jane Glass and Irma Nale, all of Milroy; a brother, Kenneth Shank of Milroy; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
      Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. A service will be held there Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Clyde A. McGee of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating.
      Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery.

      PEORIA, Ariz. - Alda B. Wilson, 91, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away on Oct. 6, 2010.
      She was born in Armagh Township, on Oct. 25, 1918, to Oliver and Florence (Baker) Shank. She was married to James S. Wilson, who preceded her in death in 1970.
      Alda worked as an aide at Arizona State Hospital and retired after 30 years.
      She was also preceded in death by her son, James A. Wilson; sister, Jane Glass; and brothers, Marlin, Alvin, Glenn and David Shank. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Kaufman and husband Robert, of Milroy, Barbara Wilson of Tempe, Ariz., and Susan Correll and husband Dennis, of Peoria, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Erma Nale and Ruth Hoar, both of Milroy, and Donna Briner, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and brother, Kenneth Shank, of Milroy.
      Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, with funeral services ensuing at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, Ariz. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery.

      MILROY - Jane E. Glass, 92, of 1185 Locke Mills Rd., Milroy, died at 2:42 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at her residence.
      Born on Nov. 13, 1916, in Milroy she was the daughter of the late Oliver A. and Florence C. (Baker) Shank.
      Her husband Gardner James Glass, whom she married on Aug. 13, 1967, survives.
      Also surviving is a step-daughter, Marjorie M. Glass of Arab, Ala., and siblings: Alda B. Wilson of Peoria, Ariz.; Erma Nale of Milroy; Ruth Hoar of Milroy; Kenneth E. Shank of Milroy; and Mrs. Richard (Donna) Briner of Arizona.
      She was preceded in death by her first husband, S. Harris Wagner and four brothers: Glen A. Shank; Marlin T. Shank; Oliver Alvin Shank; and David R. Shank.
      She was employed at the A & P Market in Lewistown and Rubles Doughnuts.
      She was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Siglerville and she had attended the Siglerville Elementary School.
      The funeral service will at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with the Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating.
      A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, also at the funeral home.
      Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Siglerville.
