Stephen moved to Cheshire or Adams, MA; his family was born in Cheshire, MA; he served in the Revolutionary War as a soldier; he was in the battle near Bennington, VT., Aug. 16, 1777; he served as deacon in the Elder Warden's (Werden) church; he gave public exhortations.
