    • H&H11; BPB,p.1262.8/1; owner of Dunkittle and Factory Hill, Cork, and of other +
      estates in Cork, Kerry & Limerick, Ireland (Factory Hill is described in detail +
      in H&H, p.23.6). A banker and merchant of Cork. He lost severely when his +
      trading fleet was captured and lost; he had to sell his estates, with Factory +
      Hill goin to his younger brother Robert, and Dunkittle to the Newenham family. +
      He was Sheriff of Cork (1708) and Mayor (1710). He was M.P. for Cork (1710-27) +
      and for Bandon, nr Cork. He was Lieut-Colonel of the Cork City Horse Militia. +
      He is buried in the family vault at St Mary's Shandon, Cork.
