Deceased Name: Hattie Louise Wollmartz, 91
Hattie Louise Wollmartz, age 91, of Sparta, Mich., died Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Louise was born July 24, 1919, in Bliss, Mich., the daughter of Harry and Blanche (Cosens) Marshall. She was a 1937 graduate of Pellston High School.
She married Gerald Wollmartz July 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1989.
Louise retired from the Michigan Employment Security Commission.
She was noted for her many kindnesses to family and friends, including an extensive greeting card mailing list. She was a believer in thank-you notes, writing to all who had extended kindness to her during her recent illness and hospitalization.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth (Roger) Christensen, Karen (Stephen) Opperman, Harry Theodore Wollmartz; grandchildren, Timothy Christensen, Molly (David) Mensch, Ronald (Megan) Opperman, Robert (Fatima) Opperman, Anji (Marc) Britten, Maggie Slabbekoorn; great-grandchildren, Claire and Sophie Mensch, Gabrielle and Heath Opperman, Lily and Isabelle Slabbekorn; sister, Jean Hoar, of Levering; several nieces, nephews and special friend and neighbor, Pearl Westen.
The funeral service took place at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at the First Congregational Church in Rockford with pastor Laurie TenHave-Chapman officiating. Interment was in Englishville Cemetery, Sparta.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, 192 E. Bridge St., Rockford, Mich. 49341.

Deceased Name: Isabel Ruth Potter
Our beloved mom, grandmother, sister and friend died at Bay Bluffs medical care facility on June 30, 2009. She had resided there for the past 10 months.
Isabel Ruth Marshall was born March 23, 1925, in Bliss, to Harry and Blanche Marshall. She grew up in Bliss and graduated from Pellston High school in 1942.
On Aug. 28, 1943, she married Wesley N. Potter in Saginaw, Mich. They had eight children and seven survive her. They are: Chuck Potter of Billings, Mont., Jeane (Jim) Mummert of Brutus, David Potter of Brutus, Barry Potter of Petoskey, Phyllis (Joe) Toms of Cicero, Ind., Bob Potter of Carp Lake, and Sue Potter of Kokomo, Ind. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Jill Heil, Jackie (Dave) Gilbert, John (Marcella) and Mickey Potter, Stephanie Tapnio, Susan McGown, Michael Hamilton, Zachary (Lacy) White, Carrie (Larry) Collins, Robert Potter, and Caleb and Jessie Potter; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Wollmartz and Jean Hoar; as well as leaving behind Scout, her beloved Shiba Inu.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nelson "Nub" Potter, in 2004; two brothers, Ted and John Marshall; three half sisters, Lileth, Clarice and Marion; and by a half brother, Billy.
Isabel resided in Carp Lake and loved her community. She was a member of the Paradise Lake Association, Carp Lake Women's Club, and the Church of the Straits, where her church family was very important to her. She was a member of Pellston Tops 1481 and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and rarely missed watching them play.
Isabel worked for 30 years at the Chippewa Motor Court in Mackinaw City and 27 years at Jordan's Marina in Carp Lake.
A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the Church of the Straits in Mackinaw City with pastor Matt Stoll officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service on July 20. Isabel's ashes will be buried in the Carp Lake Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the very caring and loving staff at Bay Bluffs.
