Obituary:
Frederick G. Hoar, a retired truck driver, died suddenly at Quincy Medical Center on Monday, January 2, 2006. He was 81.
Born in Boston, Mr. Hoar was raised in the city's Roxbury section and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. He also lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy in 1970.
Mr. Hoar was retired from the Anheuser-Busch Company in Medford. He served 35 years as a driver with the company and was a member of Teamsters Local 122.
Mr. Hoar was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Hoar was the devoted husband of 57 years to Louise H. (Sullivan) Hoar, the loving father of Joseph A. Hoar of Quincy, Frederick G. Hogan of Penacook, NH and Thomas E. Hogan and his wife Lori of Whitman, the loving Grampy of Matthew, Patricia and Dominic Hogan and the brother of Joseph Hoar of Falmouth. He was also the brother of the late George John, Albert, William and Edward Hoar, Katherine McGrady and Mary Hoar.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Quincy on Friday morning at 10:00. Interment will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. (Off Hancock St.) QUINCY CENTER on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
