      MUNCIE [Indiana] - John W. Stewart, 75, Muncie, passed away Sunday evening, July 31, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
      He was born January 23, 1930, in Muncie, the son of Kinsey L. Stewart and Anna V. (Horr) Stewart. John graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1948 and lived his entire life in the Muncie area.
      He worked for 22 years at NCR, (National Cash Register). John also owned and operated the Norwood Bowl in Alexandria for several years and he was a self-employed carpenter.
      He was and avid bowler and fisherman.
      Mr. Stewart was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
      Survivors include three daughters, Jody Glaser, (husband-Jerry), Mooreland, Cathy Hershik, (husband-John), Muncie and Lori Stewart, Angola; one son, Tom Stewart, Ingalls; two sisters, Judy Arnold, Muncie and Laraine Anderson, (husband-Steve), Muncie; two brothers, Art Stewart, (wife-Jan), Muncie and Ed Stewart, Eaton; four grandchildren, Matthew Glaser, (wife-Brook), Losantville; Aimee Glaser, Mooreland; Christian Hershik, Muncie and Benjamin Hershik, Muncie; a special cousin, June Dyke; and several nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Thompson.
      Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory with Rev. Ronald Naylor officiating.
      Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
