      John F. Fielding
      John Francis Fielding age 95 of Fall River died Friday, April 11, 2008 in the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of the late Rita Mae (Wilson) Fielding.
      He was born in Fall River the son of the late John and Mary (Harrington) Fielding, he spent most of his life in Fall River and moved to Westport in 1998 before returning to Fall River in 2005.
      Mr. Fielding was employed as a Machinist for the former Brown and Sharpe in Fall River for 27 years before retiring in 1977, he was the Chauffeur for two years for S. Virgil Merritt, and during World War II worked at the Torpedo Station in Newport. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3667 and enjoyed the outdoors, boating, camping, bird watching and was an animal lover.
      Surviving are two children John Fielding and his wife Carol J. of Westport and Joan Rita Luongo and her husband Atty. Jeremiah Vincent of Fall River, nine grandchildren Nancy Beth (Luongo) Fielding, Timothy Jay Luongo, Jennifer Joan Luongo formerly Sant, Jamie Susan Luongo, Deirdre Jill Lucas, Justin Adam Luongo, John Francis Fielding, Melissa Lee Fielding and Shelly Anne Fielding, four great-grandchildren Brittany Jennifer Sant, Abigail Madison Fielding, John Michael Fielding, Ryan Francis Fielding and expected great-granddaughter Kiah Frances Fielding and several nieces and nephews.
      Mr. Fielding was also the brother of the late Helen Holland, Irene Curtis, Charles Hoar and James Hoar.
      His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St., Fall River (at Cherry, High and Locust Sts.) followed by his Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary's Church Spring St., Fall River. Visiting hours Mon. 4-8pm.
