Edward J. Hoar, 83, of Oswego Street,Liverpool,died Monday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born in New York, he retired in 1976 after 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service, Syracuse branch. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 4th Armored Division.
His wife, Laura, died in 1986.
Survivors: A stepdaughter, Patricia Wade of Brewerton; a son, Michael of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a stepgrandchild.
Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sears-Middleton-Jones Funeral Home and noon in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial, Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Onondaga Hill. Calling hours, 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
