      A few days ago the Detroit Free PTVSM learned
      tbat an old soldier named Michael Hoar, wbo
      once belonged to the Fifth Michigan Cavalry,
      bad been sent to Harper Hospital through tne
      friendly Intervention of Henry Starkey, formerly
      an officer ia tbe Fifth Cavalry. Tbe fact
      tbat Hoar bad no relatives tbat be knew of was
      also mentioned in connection with tbe statement
      tbat arrangements were making to secure admission
      for him to the Soldiers' Home at Dayton.
      Last Sunday a gentleman called at Har
      per Hopital and informed tbe authorities that be
      wae a brother of tbe old soldier, and that he bad
      cume to take bim to bia own home in Jackson,
      Mich., being abundantly able to care for him,
      aad rvjoined beyond the power of words to express
      at the chance wbicb bad disclosed to blm
      the whereabouts ot a brother whom he had long
      regarded aa dead. Toe meeting la described as
      moat affecting, although tha poor old man did
      not at first recognize bis fine-looking and mora
      tin sanest brother. Tha latter informed Dr.
      ot the hospital, that ths narrative pubstrevt,
