Deceased Name: Althea F. Raymond Church organist in Wilton was accomplished knitter
Althea F. Raymond, 84, of The Edgewater Estates, 5 Howard St., Wilton, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after a brief illness.
Mrs. Raymond had been the church organist for Sacred Heart Church in Wilton for many years.
She was a member of the Wilton Senior Citizens and AARP.
Mrs. Raymond was an avid bingo player and a well-known and accomplished knitter.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Mrs. Raymond was a 1932 graduate of Hyde Park (Mass.) High School.
Mrs. Raymond was born in Meriden, Conn., on Nov. 17, 1914, daughter of the late Armand and Amelia (Petryski) Berthiaume. She had lived in Wilton for 47 years.
Survivors include two sons, Charles H. Raymond of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Richard J. Raymond of Milford two daughters, Patricia Martin of Twin Mountain and Claire Stickney of Laconia a stepdaughter, Barbara Knowlton of Wil ton 11 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren and two sisters, Lauretta Hoar and Barbara Sanuth, both of Hyde Park.
The Nelson Funeral Home in Wil ton is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara B. (Berthiaume) Sanuth, 96, formerly of Hyde Park, Mass., died March 29, 2014, at Merrimack Valley Nursing Home in Boscawen, surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Meriden, Conn., on Oct. 10, 1917, to Armand and Amalia (Patriski) Berthiaume. She lived in Hyde Park and Westwood, Mass., for many years before moving to New Hampshire in 2003.Barbara's calling was to the ministry of church and youth. She worked as the secretary at the Archdiocesan Chancery office, the Cardinal's residence, as well as Most Precious Blood and St. Theresa's Parish.She was involved with the CYO, Chi Rho Society and Mater Dei Guild. She spent many years working with the youth of the church as a coach, adviser, substitute mother and guide as they went to dances, and on ski and swim trips, and hay rides. She continued this passion into her late years with her grandchildren and volunteering with the church.Barbara's favorite recreation was playing cards, bowling and rooting for the Red Sox.She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Sanuth in 1992; a grandson, Thomas Sanuth in 2010; and her siblings, Walter, Althea (Raymond), Lauretta (Hoar) and Henry.Her family includes two children, William Sanuth of Goffstown and Barbara Ann Sanuth of Bourne, Mass.; her grandchildren, Carl, Keith, Katie (McKerley) and Matthew; 10 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Theresa of Avila Parish, 2078 Centre St., West Roxbury, Mass.
