Prosthetics chief
MANSFIELD - Robert Arthur Currie, retired prosthetics chief at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Allen Park, Mich., died Monday at a Grand Prairie hospital. He was 73.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Requiem service will be at 8 a.m. Sunday at St. Gregory's Episcopal Church in Mansfield, where he was a member.
Hugh M. Moore & Sons Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Currie was born in St. Louis, and had lived in the Fort Worth area for 11 years.He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was also an Army veteran.
Mr. Currie was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He also was a Mason and member of Moslah Shrine Temple, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mansfield Shriner Club.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of choice.
Survivors: Wife, Vi Currie of Mansfield; three sons, Robert G. Currie and John J. Currie, both of Milwaukee, Ore., and Richard A. Currie of Arlington; two daughters, Christina Parkey and Ruth Hoar, both of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
