Martha Ann Horr is living next door to Martha Hawley- Horr, widow of Harmon Horr, her mother. After three months of marriage Martha returned to her mother's home, never returning to her marriage. Hampshire Gazette and Northampton Courier September 24, 1878 Martha A. Town of Pelham, married Harrison D. Town, May 1, 1868, and on the first of August following she went back to her mother's. She "wasn't going to keep house any more for any one." That's the whole story, and furnishes ground for belief that the old saying should be changed from "marrying hastily and repenting leisurely", to marry hastily and repent ditto. He never could get her to go back and live with him after that, and the Judge thought it over awhile and sundered forever what God had joined together for three months.
