HENRY D. WING (1888), son of John and Tryphenia (Thayer) Wing (Captain Thomas, . Svlvanus, Bachelor, Daniel, Rev. John. Matthew), was born Oct. 1, 1818, in Vermont. When four years of age, in 1822. his parents moved to a farm owned by the father, twelve miles from Montreal, Canada. In 1829. when twelve vears of age, Henry D. Winer swam the St. Lawrence River and walked to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he had an older sister, Sophia, the wife of Benjamin Horr. He learned the cooper trade and worked at it in Chilacothie, Ohio, where about 1840, he married a wife named Snyder, by whom he had three children, the names of whom are unknown. About 1845 he went to St. Louis and then back to Cincinnati, where he married Mary Kibby Beaman in September, 1849, by whom he had two daughters, Marv and Charlotte. His second wife died March 25, 1853, and he then married Elizabeth J. Beaman. a cousin of his first wife, Aug. 17, 1853. His third wife was born Nov. 5. 1835. He died June 5, 1857. His children were:
