      Hugh Kilgore, (2) the oldest child, was not a soldier in the Revolutionary War; at least no record of his service is to be found in the Pennsylvania Archives. In 1785 he witnessed the will of Thomas Ross, of Cumberland County. Following is an abstract of his (Hugh's) will:

      Hugh Kilgore, Tyrone Township, (now Perry County), Farmer, 5 April, 1805, "wife, Jean, daughter Rebecca. Sons; David and James, daughters Elizabeth Kelly, Mary Kilgore, Margaret and Jean. Executors, wife Jean and nephew, William McClure." Witnesses: Edward ___ , James Wilson. Signed, Hugh Kilgore,signed 5 April 1805, probated 23 April, 1805.
