      Deceased Name: Glenn L. Ewing
      WWII veteran was diesel mechanic
      Glenn L. Ewing, 83, of Chartiers Township, died Friday, September 17, 2010, in Momma's House Personal Care Home, Claysville.
      He was born October 18, 1926, in West Finley Township, a son of Alvin Wade and Edith Horr Ewing.
      During World War II, Mr. Ewing served in the U.S. Navy.
      He was a diesel mechanic with the Fox and James Trucking Co.
      Mr. Ewing was a member of the National Rifle Association.
      He enjoyed watching old Western movies and also NASCAR racing.
      Surviving are two grandchildren, Lisa (Ben) Hathaway of Washington and Debbie (Dale) Cianflone of Houston; five great-grandchildren, Riley Ewing, Savannah and Gavin Hathaway and Danika and Shilynn Cianflone; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Ewing of Houston; two brothers, Neale Ewing of Dallas, W.Va., and Barry (Joyce) Ewing of West Alexander; and four sisters, Lois Pappas of New Jersey, JoAnn Lennox of Washington, Nancy (Dan) Rowe of Industry and Connie (Ed) Jinkens of Claysville.
      Deceased are a son, Glenn L. "Lucky" Ewing Jr., and a brother, Wade Ewing.
      Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday, September 24, in Claysville Cemetery, West Route 40, Claysville. Pastor Gary Gibson will officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
