Lexington Minuteman (MA) - May 8, 2008
Deceased Name: William J. Hopkins
LEXINGTON - William J. Hopkins, 96, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at his home. He was the husband of Helen (Ginkus) Hopkins.
He was born in Cambridge on June 20, 1911, the son of Henrietta (Thurber) and Edward Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked as a cab driver in Cambridge.
Mr. Hopkins was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Brigid Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marti Hoar and her husband, Stephen, of Woburn, and Kathleen H. Carlson of Natick; and two grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was to be celebrated May 7 at St. Brigid Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne.
