  [[ Obituary: Sunday Republican (Springfield, MA) - December 16, 2007 Deceased Name: Catherine A. Walence 1961-2007 SPRINGFIELD - Catherine Ann Walence, 46, of Springfield died Wednesday December 12, 2007 in Baystate Medical Center, Spring-field. Catherine was born in Springfield on August 28, 1961. She was the daughter of Mary M. (Hoar) Walence of Springfield with whom she lived and the late Dr. Edmond M. Walence. Catherine worked as a billing clerk at Per-Se Medical Billing Services for the past 18 years. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield, a graduate of Cathedral High School, and a communicant of St. Patrick's Church.. Besides her mother she is survived by a brother, Stephen M. Walence of Hampden; two nephews, Nicholas and Daniel; and a niece, Kayleigh. Catherine's funeral will be held on Tuesday morning December 18, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield. Rites of committal and burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield. Visiting hours at the funeral home for Catherine will be held on Monday December 17, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield, MA 01118.
