      Deceased Name: MERRILL R. WETHERBEE, 92
      GRAFTON - Merrill R. "Bud" Wetherbee, 92, of 21 Carroll Road, a retired machinist, died Monday night in Worcester.
      His wife of 58 years, Ethel M. (Cobleigh) Wetherbee, died in 1994. He leaves a son, Otis C. Wetherbee of Charlton; two daughters, Naomi A. Howarth of Upton and Mercie M. Vinton of Spencer; a sister, Ina Carlson of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Boxboro, son of Charles and Mercie (Hoar) Wetherbee, and lived here more than 60 years. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1926.
      Mr. Wetherbee was machinist 35 years at the American Steel & Wire Co. division of U.S. Steel and Carnegie, Worcester, and retired in 1971.
      He was a member of the Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ and a former member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Boxboro. He was also a member of the Tahatawan Lodge of Masons, Littleton, for more than 68 years and was a 75-year member of the Boxboro Grange.
      A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in United Church of Christ Congregational, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxboro. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Boxboro. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ, Memorial Fund, 30 Grafton Common, Grafton, MA 01519; or to United Church of Christ Congregational, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxboro, MA 01719.
