Roy Lee "Pete" Columber, age 67, passed away Thursday (Jan. 5, 06) at his residence on Crum Ridge Road in Caldwell, OH. He was born May 17, 1938 in Kenton, OH a son of the late Nick Rarey and Helen Angeline Columber. He served his country in the armed forces and was a member of the American Turner Club. He retired in 1999 after 40 years in the concrete construction business. He worked for Turzillo, S.P.E.C.S. and United Foundations. He was superintendent for piling, grouting and concrete construction.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Kennetha Kay Columber.

He is survived by his Sons Lee Allan Columber, Roy Lee Columber Jr. and Marty Vanhorn; Daughters Mary Klibert, Laurie Vanhorn and Tammy Smith; Fifteen Grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; Brother Pat Sheridan; Sisters Teresa Vermillion and Joyce Wilkerson. He also leaves his dogs, who were his faithful companions, as well as his coffee buddies.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday (Jan. 14, 06) at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Rd., Akron. Following the service friends are invited to meet at the American Turner Club, 547 Munroe Falls Rd. to share refreshments and a cigar in his honor. His cremated remains will be laid to rest on his property located at 41387 Crum Ridge Rd., Caldwell, OH on Sunday (Jan. 15, 06) at 3:00 pm friends are also welcome to attend this ceremony. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to assist his companions who are now being cared for at the Noble County Pound by sending donations payable to Noble County, 210 Courthouse, Caldwell, Ohio 43724 and include the message Dog Pound on the memo section of the check. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH has been entrusted to care for the family.
