One of the most widely known of the oldest Irish-American residents of Lowell, Mass., died March 29 at his home, 24 Lewis St. Mr. Hoar was 80 years old. He came to Lowell about 50 years ago. Deceased was a native of Dingle, County Kerry. He traveled extensively and was one of the pioneers who went to Colorado in '49. Previous to coming to Lowell he served in the American navy. For a number of years he was in the grocery business on Dutton St and retired eight years ago. He was the father of the late _Dr. William M. Hoar_, and besides his widow, leaves two grandchildren.
