Fargo, Jr., 85, formerly of Falconer, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday (Oct. 11, 2004) in the Heritage Village Health Care Center. An area resident most of his life, he was born April 20, 1919, in the town of North Harmony, the son of Harold L. and Ella Gladys Vergith Fargo. He was a graduate of Chautauqua High School and in earlier years had been employed at the former Field and Wright Furniture Co., the Chautauqua County Highway Department, and later for 27 years by the former Art Metal Company. He was a 25 year member of the International Association of Machinist Union Aerospace Workers Lodge 1559, a 50-year life member of the Jamestown Moose Lodge, and a 68-year member of the National Riffle Association and its Legion of Honor and Millennium Honor Roll. He was very appreciative of the many things Dennis and Brenda Weiler and their son, Andy had done for him over the years. He is survived by two brothers: Jarvis J. Fargo of San Jose, Calif., and Russell A. Fargo of Wakatu, New Zealand; and a sister Jean Fargo of New York City. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Timothy D. Phelps, pastor of the Falconer United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
