      Source: NEHGR V.56, page liv: ..."Thomas (1) Blanchard, who was of French Huguenot ancestry, and who came to this country from England in 1639, in the ship "Jonathan." His wife's name was Mary. His son Samuel (2) was born in England in 1629, and came to America with his father. "

      Source: NEHGR v.41, page 82 - from Massachusetts Archives, ix.4 -- Petition of Thomas Blandcher, 2-4-1646, says -- Whereas Anne Barnes of Way-hill in Hampshire, England, gave her son Richard Barnes 20 pounds and Anne Bent grandmother to said Richard gave him 16 pounds committed to the trust of John Bent with whom the said Richard hath been "mantayned since his coming into New England about seven years." -- John Bent gives security for payment when said Richard is twentyone, signed by Thomas Blancher, John Bent and Peter Noyes.

Thomas Blanchard died in Charlestown, MA, 21 May 1654."
