      2. William (2) Weeden (James-1) was baptized 30 May 1619 at Chesham, Bucks Co, England, son of James Weeden (bapt 1585) and Phillipa Cocke (bapt. 1587/8). He probably accompanied his father James who came to America in 1638 on the ship "Martin." He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newport 12 Oct 1648. On 29 No 1676 Samuel Hubbard wrote of William Weeden's having been killed by the Indians in King Phillip's Was. According to a secondary source, he married Abigail Bailey who was born about 1623. Austin notes that possibly one or two of those children assigned as his sons may have been grandsons, and sons of William (3).
