Obituary:
Edwin A. "Ed" Hoar, 88, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on April 8, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Port Jervis, New York on August 2, 1924 to Frank and Mary Hoar. He was the oldest of 6 siblings.
Ed was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp 330th Bomb Group Veteran who was stationed in Guam and participated in numerous missions. At a USO dance, he met and later married Vesta Jean Jones on June 26, 1946. After the war, they moved to Hill City, Kansas where he and Vesta owned and operated the E & J Dairy, Mr. Ed's Motors, and they were house parents for adults with disabilities for DSNWK. Upon retiring in 1989, they moved to Canon City, Colorado. While in Canon City, he was an active member in St. Michael Catholic Church.
Ed is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vesta Jean Jones Hoar; children, Reta Martinez (Felix) of Howard, CO, Michael Hoar (Linda) of Dodge City, KS, Patricia Pierce (Kent) of Flossmoor, IL, Kathy Pool (David) of Garden City, KS, and James Hoar (Mary) of Canon City, CO; sisters, Patricia Wagner (Bill) and Beverly Belcher. He also has eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, John Stephen Hoar.
Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canon City with Reverend Kevin Novack as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery on Highway 115 in Canon City. Eugene "Bud" Hoar, Middletown, New York Formerly of Port Jervis, New York
Formerly of Port Jervis, N.Y. Eugene "Bud" Hoar, a retired laborer, truck driver for Orange County Highway, Dept. Town of Mt. Hope and longtime area resident, died Feb. 26, 2006 at ORMC, Horton Hospital, Middletown. He was 79. The son of the late Frank and Mary Elizabeth Cron Hoar, he was born Nov. 27, 1926 in Port Jervis. He was a member of Howells Fire Dept., Middletown, Lodge of Elks, BPOE. He was also a veteran of WW II, the US Army. Survivors include two sisters, Patricia Wagner and husband William of Port Jervis, Beverly Belcher of Port Jervis; two brothers, Edwin Hoar and wife Jean of Canyon City, Colo., Frank Wilson and wife Rose of Huntsville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Belva Schwarz. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Inc., 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Howell Fire Dept. will conduct services Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1 at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Foster will officiate. Belva M. Schwarz, 79, Hill City, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at her home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Port Jervis, N.Y., to Frank and Mary (Crone) Hoar.
She married Alexander "Al" Schwarz on April 3, 1961, in Hill City. She was a cook and homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Hill City; a daughter, Sharon Schwarz, Wichita; three brothers, Ed Hoar, Canon City, Colo., Eugene Hoar, Otisville, N.Y., and Frank Wilson, Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia Wagner and her twin, Beverly Belcher, both of Port Jervis.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hill City; burial in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City.
A vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation will be from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Stinemetz Funeral Chapel, Hill City, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Frank Wilson
Services for Frank Wilson, 70, of Huntsburg Township, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon (Route 44, 500' south of Route 6/Chardon Square).
Mr. Wilson died Friday, March 28, 2008, at his residence.
Born Sept. 30, 1937, in Port Jervis, N.Y., he had lived in Huntsburg for the past 30 years, moving from Willowick.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians and enjoyed gaming.
Mr. Wilson worked at Parker-Hannifin for 38 years, retiring in 1998.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Rose Marie (White) Wilson; daughters, Shirley Ann (John) Titus of Ravenna, Mary Ellen (Russell) Thornton of South Carolina and Patricia (Robert) Hosmer of Huntsburg; brother, Ed Hoar of Colorado; sisters, Patricia Wagner and Beverly Belcher, both of New York; and grandchildren, Russell, Andrew and David Thornton, James and Aaron Hosmer and Amber and Chloe Titus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (Cron) Hoar; grandson, Larry Vincent Burke; brother, Eugene Hoar; and sister, Belva Schwartz.
Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas Behrend of The Church of St. Mary, will officiate services. Burial will be in Huntsburg Cemetery.

CANON CITY, Colo. ? John Stephen Hoar, 46, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, in Canon City.
He was born Feb. 27, 1958, in Hill City to Edwin A. and Vesta Jean (Jones) Hoar.
He attended special education classes in the Hill City Schools and had been a client at Kobler Center.
Survivors include his parents, of the home; two brothers, Mike Hoar, Dodge City, and Jim Hoar, Canon City; and three sisters, Reta Martinez, Howard, Colo., Pat Pierce, Flossmore, Ill., and Kathy Pool, Garden City.
Services were March 31 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Canon City; burial in Lakeside Cemetery.

John Stephen Hoar, Ca?non City, CO, died March 27, 2004. He was born Feb. 27, 1958, in Hill City, Kan., to Edwin A. and Vesta Jean (Jones) Hoar. Mr. Hoar attended special education classes in the Hill City schools and then was a client at Kobler Center Workshop.
He moved to Ca?non City with his parents in December of 1989. While he lived in Ca?non City, he participated in many services and activities through Developmental Opportunities and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Reta Martinez, Howard, Pat Pierce, and Kathy Pool; two brothers, Mike Hoar, and Jim Hoar; four nephews; four nieces; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew and many friends and caregivers.
Mr. Hoar was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene Jones, Marjorie Shelton Jones Stephens, Frank Hoar, and May Ann Cron Hoar and step grandfather, Harold Stephens.
Burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
