    Deceased Name: Ina May (Wetherbee) Carlson
    WORCESTER Ina May (Wetherbee) Carlson of Worcester died on 01/08/2004 at home with her family by her side.
    Her husband of 35 years, Arthur J. Carlson died in 1961. She leaves a daughter Janet A. Shamlian of Worcester with whom she lived and another daughter, Barbara C. Prescott, who died in 1989. Ina is survived by 7 grandchildren, Russell C. Prescott, Linda E. Castle, Wendy M. Hack, Stephen M. Shamlian, Arlene M. Wilson, John A. Shamlian, David B. Shamlian, and their respective spouses, along with 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
    Two grandchildren Douglas H. Prescott and Sharon L. Bumpus predeceased her. She leaves many other cherished nieces and nephews.
    She was born in Boxboro, MA daughter of Charles T. and Mercie (Hoar) Wetherbee and outlived her 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
    Ina lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated from Bromfield High School, Harvard, MA and attended Worcester Post Business School. She worked at the Guarantee Bank & Trust as a Customer Service Representative for 15 years, retiring in 1976.
    Ina was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, its Women's Society and was a life member of Stella Chapter #3 Order of the Eastern Star.
    She had many fond memories vacationing at Cape Cod with her family and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
    There will be no calling hours, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, 01/17/04 at 12:00 noon at Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
    NORDGREN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 300 LINCOLN ST., is directing arrangements.

    Deceased Name: MERRILL R. WETHERBEE, 92
    GRAFTON - Merrill R. "Bud" Wetherbee, 92, of 21 Carroll Road, a retired machinist, died Monday night in Worcester.
    His wife of 58 years, Ethel M. (Cobleigh) Wetherbee, died in 1994. He leaves a son, Otis C. Wetherbee of Charlton; two daughters, Naomi A. Howarth of Upton and Mercie M. Vinton of Spencer; a sister, Ina Carlson of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Boxboro, son of Charles and Mercie (Hoar) Wetherbee, and lived here more than 60 years. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1926.
    Mr. Wetherbee was machinist 35 years at the American Steel & Wire Co. division of U.S. Steel and Carnegie, Worcester, and retired in 1971.
    He was a member of the Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ and a former member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Boxboro. He was also a member of the Tahatawan Lodge of Masons, Littleton, for more than 68 years and was a 75-year member of the Boxboro Grange.
    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in United Church of Christ Congregational, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxboro. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Boxboro. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ, Memorial Fund, 30 Grafton Common, Grafton, MA 01519; or to United Church of Christ Congregational, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxboro, MA 01719.
