Ruth M. "Toot" Rutter, 88, of Gap, died Friday at home of natural causes.
Mrs. Rutter worked for her father, who owned the former Rutter's Restaurant in Gap.
She was a member of the former Gap United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Rutter was a member of the Gap Fire Company auxiliary, Gap Clock Tower Association and Chris Penn Chapter 455, Order of the Eastern Star of Christiana.
She enjoyed sending cards for all occasions.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Elsie M. Hoar Rutter.
Surviving are a son, William H., married to Jeannette Miller Rutter of Gap; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L.; and a sister, Evelyn E.
