    Agnes K. Simmons Agnes K. Simmons, 72, of N. State St., Ripley, died Wednesday, February 22, 2005 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 29, 1933 in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Derth and Hazel Hoar Swoger. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Ripley Central School from 1986 until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ripley. She also collected and enjoyed watching movies, and was an avid collector of Disney memorabilia. She is survived by her husband, James G. Simmons, whom she married June 8, 1968; son Timothy J. Simmons and his wife Barb of Hamburg, N.Y.; daughter Kimberly A. Swanson and her husband Jeff of Jamestown; grandchildren Chianne, Shane, Kiara, and Kylie Swanson, and Alexis and Peyton Simmons; brothers Bob and Dick Swoger both of Ripley, N.Y.; sisters Jane Trippy of North East, Pa., Della O'Dell of Grove City, Pa., Sandy Wagner of Erie, Pa., and Marge Butcher of Ripley, N.Y. She was preceded in death three brothers, Derth Swoger, Ronald Swoger and Leonard Swoger; and three sisters, Daryl Swoger, Mary Witt, and Hazel Swoger. Friends may call at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley, on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services there at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Eggleston, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held privately in the Quincy Cemetery.     Deceased Name: Mary Louise Witt
    Mary Louise Witt, 67, of Baytown, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2003. The sun rose in Knoxville, Pa., on November 1, 1935, bringing with it a new day and a new life. Mary Louise was born to Hazel Belle and Dearth Yorty Swoger. Her formative childhood years were spent in Ripley, New York, where she attended the local public school and church. She was later united in Holy Matrimony to August A. Witt. To this union was born six children, Cheryl, Williams, August, Richard, Alecia and Ann.
    Mary L. Witt was a loving mother to all, and she was an active member of the Brazoria County Sheriffs Department.
    Her passing brought sadness to the hearts of all who loved her. To cherish her memories, she leaves daughters, Cheryl Minton, Alecia Johnson, Ann Krenek; sons, August Witt, Richard Witt; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Robert and wife Sharon, Richard and wife Sandra, all of Ripley, New York; sisters, Emma Jane Trippy, of North East, Pa., Della Odell of West Middlesex, Pa., Sandra and husband Mark Wagner, Jr, of Erie, Pa., Agnes and husband James Simmons, Marjorie and husband Henry Butcher, all of Ripley, New York; a host of other relatives and friends.
    She is preceded in death by husband, August A. Witt; son, William Witt; mother, Hazel Belle Hoar Swoger; father, Dearth Yorty Swoger; three brothers, Ronald, Dearth, Leonard Swoger; 2 sisters; Daryl and Hazel Swoger.
    Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at Robey Funeral Home, with Rev. Patti Henry officiating.

    Della Y. O'Dell of 15 Connelly Blvd., Sharon, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 72.
    Mrs. O'Dell was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of Dearth and Hazel Hoar Swoger.
    She attended school in Ripley, N.Y., and following school was a homemaker.
    Della was a member of Victory Christian Center, New Wilmington campus.
    She was involved with the Mental Health Association in Sharon and was awarded an outstanding achievement award for her work with the association.
    Della loved word search puzzles and bingo and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The most important people in her life were her grandchildren and family.
    Her husband, Andrew Peter Benton O'Dell, whom she married June 29, 1968, passed away July 17, 1988.
    She is survived by: two daughters, Gail and her husband Robert Saxion, West Middlesex; and Lynn and her husband Arthur Callahan, Harrisville; three sisters, Sandy, Jane and Margie; two brothers, Bob and Richard; and seven grandchildren, Leslie, Stephanie and Nancy Saxion; and Dakota Gromley, Richard O'Dell Jr., Destiny O'Dell and Stephen Callahan. Della is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Nicole O'Dell, West Middlesex.
    Besides her parents and husband, Della was preceded in death by a son, Richard O'Dell; three sisters, Mary, Hazel and Agnes; and a brother, Leonard.
