    Executors names in will Son William Kilgore and "true and loving friend Alexander Laugh (latter resigned his Executorship.

    Elizabeth (Betsy) Jack, who was the sister of Patrick Jack, one of the most remarkable characters of Pennsylvania, a hero of the Wilderness. Received a commission of Captain from the Governor of Pennsylvania. Jack's Mountain and Jack's Narrows along the Juniata were named for him. He offered his services to Braddock but was turned down.

    Elizabeth evidently died in 1792 as her will made May 14, 1782 was probated Feb. 14, 1792.

    Elizabeth married James William Kilgore about 1735 in Cumberland, PA. James (son of John Kilgore) was born in 1701 in Donagheady,County Down,North Ireland; died in 1781 in Of Cumberland,PA. [Group Sheet]

    Hugh Kilgore, (2) the oldest child, was not a soldier in the Revolutionary War; at least no record of his service is to be found in the Pennsylvania Archives. In 1785 he witnessed the will of Thomas Ross, of Cumberland County. Following is an abstract of his (Hugh's) will:

    Hugh Kilgore, Tyrone Township, (now Perry County), Farmer, 5 April, 1805, "wife, Jean, daughter Rebecca. Sons; David and James, daughters Elizabeth Kelly, Mary Kilgore, Margaret and Jean. Executors, wife Jean and nephew, William McClure." Witnesses: Edward ___ , James Wilson. Signed, Hugh Kilgore,signed 5 April 1805, probated 23 April, 1805.

    David Buchanan was born in Washington, PA, December 11, 1780. He married Jane Cummins (born August 17, 1788) of Virginia (now, West Virginia). The state line ran lenthwise of their porch. Part of her "setting out" was several Negro slaves. When the couple went to keeping house in Pennsylvania, she had to give them up.
