Elizabeth (Betsy) Jack, who was the sister of Patrick Jack, one of the most remarkable characters of Pennsylvania, a hero of the Wilderness. Received a commission of Captain from the Governor of Pennsylvania. Jack's Mountain and Jack's Narrows along the Juniata were named for him. He offered his services to Braddock but was turned down.
Elizabeth evidently died in 1792 as her will made May 14, 1782 was probated Feb. 14, 1792.Elizabeth married James William Kilgore about 1735 in Cumberland, PA. James (son of John Kilgore) was born in 1701 in Donagheady,County Down,North Ireland; died in 1781 in Of Cumberland,PA. [Group Sheet]
