Of Leslie Twp., MI, age 71, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Ingham Region Medical Center? Greenlawn Campus in Lansing. She was born on October 25, 1940 in Leslie, MI, the daughter of Ivan and Gualia (Horr) Chesley. She was the valedictorian of the Leslie High School Class of 1958. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, wildflowers, fishing, reading, camping, and she loved taking long rides in the car with no specific destination. On January 23, 1960 she married Carl Ousley and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Steve Ousley of Leslie, Lisa Wheeler of Stockbridge, Gayla (Royce) Bachelder of Leslie, and Pam (David) Rhodes of Lansing; one brother, Richard (Judy) Chesley of Croton, MI; one sister, Carol (Rev. Forrest) Hampton of Clare, MI; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel E. Ousley in 1985. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Old Regular Baptist Church (corner of M-52 and Oakley Road in Stockbridge). The family will receive friends at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt. Olive Old Regular Baptist Church, Stockbridge.
