Mrs. Lane was born in County Roscommon, Ireland, in 1817, and came to America in 1836. She settled in Hudson, N.Y., and two years later was married to Mr. Michael Lane, of that city. Forty-five years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Lane removed to Oakland Valley, N.Y., where they resided until four years ago when Mrs. Lane, her husband having died, decided to spend her declining years at the home of her son Thomas, of this village, where she died as above stated. A short time previous to her removal to this village, Mrs. Lane's right hip was broken in a fall and she had since been confined to her bed.

During the last 25 years of the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Lane at Oakland Valley, Mr. Lane was employed by the Delaware & Hudson Canal Co., as watchman of the Beaver Dam at that place.

Mrs. Lane was a kind hearted and lovable woman. She bore her long suffering without complaint, and was much beloved by all. She was a consistent member of St. Mary's Church.

The deceased is survived by the following children, Thomas and Frank, of Port Jervis, James, Michael, John and Patrick, of Rockland, N.Y., Rose, wife of Thomas Coons, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mary, wife of John Cuddihe, of Lordville, N.Y. She also had two brothers, Martin Hoar, who was killed in the war between the United States and Mexico, and John Hoar, who died in Virginia in 1863 from diseases contracted while serving as a private in the 143rd regiment, New York Volunteers.

The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Church at 10.30 o'clock, Saturday morning, where Requiem High Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Clancey. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
