  [[ Obituary: Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow, age 76, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2003, at the Crestridge Nursing home in Maquoketa, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, September 18, 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa, with The Rev. Marlin Whitmer of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, Iowa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa, where a military flag presentation will be held. Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow was born on August 14, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Paul Goodenow and Martha (Horr) Goodenow. He was a 1945 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School, and was a Korean War veteran of the Army. He married Virginia A. Wheeler on July 12, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland. Darral E. "Goody" Goodenow had first worked at his father's radiator shop in Maquoketa for a year. He then worked at Rosenberg Auto Supply in Maquoketa in the parts department for 45 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, and the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and music- especially listening to the radio. He is survived by: his wife- Virginia A. Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA; 1 sister- Shirley(Mrs. David) Burns of Maquoketa, IA; 1 brother- Frank(Jane) Goodenow of Maquoketa, IA; & several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Clinton VNA Hospice.
