He was one of the first game wardens in Crow Wing Co. 1880 census says he was 22. I got this info from Historic Heartland Association. Is that still in Brainerd? ~ Jefferson Saunders is written about in Volume one of "Oldtimers...Stories of Our Pioneers in the Cass and Crow Wing Lakes Region" by Carl A. Zapffe on Page 71 and In volume 2, page 143 it mentions that Jefferson Saunders was the brother-in-law of Reuben Grey. Just a bit of Crow Wing County History.
