Obituary:
Max Glenwood Farren, 83, passed away peacefully Jan. 29, 2009, in Sammamish, Wash., where he resided for the past six years.
He was born June 9, 1925, on the family farm in Ottawa, Kan., to the late Helen Adams Farren and Glenwood Gale Farren, their only child. He was a member of the Williamsburg High School graduating class of 1943 in Ottawa. From there he enlisted in the Army and served this country as a sergeant until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. He was a proud graduate of the University of Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
In 1951, Max married his wife, Marietta and was happily married for 37 years, until Marietta's passing in 1988. They were the proud parents of daughter, Gayle, who passed away in 1990; a son, Bryce; and a son, Michael, who was sadly only a part of their lives for 16 days.
Max made a successful career in the insurance industry for many years, and remained in this line of business until his full retirement in 1999. He was a wonderful, loving and caring man, and he will be missed by his family, many friends, and colleagues.
Max is survived by his son, Bryce Farren; a daughter-in-law, Sara; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Keira.
In honor of Max's request, a private graveside service was held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
