Services at 2 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Ganther officiating. Burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Melva was born on Sept. 3, 1925, to the late Clarence and Edith (McMullen) Jackson in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married Eugene Cleo Vest on Aug. 27, 1943, in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1986. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the VFW, and The Eagles. Survivors include two sons, Harold Vest and wife, Darline, of Stephenville, and Ronald Vest and wife, Linda, of Clinton, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Shelly Vest, Kevin Vest, Heather Grimes, Russell Vest, Robert Vest, Melissa Hess, Robert Terry, Jeffrey Terry, and Jeremy Terry; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
