      Deceased Name: Carter, Robert G.
      NEW LONDON, NH ? Robert Guild Carter, of New London, NH and Palm City, FL died on May 19th, days before his 79th birthday. Hewas born in Roselle Park, NJ, the son of Herbert Melville Carter and Marrian (Hoar) Carter. He grew up inWeymouth, MA where he earned his Eagle Scout rank and went on to serve in the United States Navy Submarine Service. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1952 where he was Kake Walk Director and a member of Phi Delta Theta. Upon graduation, he joined the Aetna Life and Casualty in field sales and management positions in New Haven and Boston, retiring in 1989 as Vice President Group Division. During his career he served many organizations; Vice Chairman New Haven Red Cross, President New Haven Life Underwriters Association, Founding Member Branford, CT Housing Authority, Treasurer Branford Congregational Church, Treasurer and Board Member Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, and Associate Member of Mory's. In retirement, he served on the Board of the New London Council on Aging and developed the successful Transportation Program. He leaves his wife of forty six years, Dawn (Perry) Carter, daughter Heidi Carter Milardo and her husband Joseph of Hampstead, NH, son Andrew Melville Carter and his wife Michelle of Strafford, NH and grandchildren Morgan, Lucas, Keegan and Isaac.
      A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Sunapee Region VNA, PO Box 2209, New London, NH 03257.
