PATTEN - Roland "Stoke" Wilkins, 85, died July 17, 2012, in Houlton. He was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Houlton, the son of Rupert and Mildred (Hoar) Wilkins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he drove truck for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis (Baker) Wilkins of Patten; three children, Virginia Hartin and her husband, Steve, of Hersey, R. Thomas Wilkins and his wife, Kim, of Old Town and Carol Wilkins-Roy and her husband, Troy Roy of Levant; seven grandchildren, Monica, Chris, Matt, Brad, Hailey, Dylan and Noah; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Leigha, Kirby, Madison and Ava; two sisters, Vivian Socia of Oxford, Mass., and Dorothy Shean of Crystal; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Wilfred and Earl; and a sister, Hester. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Patten, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. with Father David Raymond, celebrant.
