"Jody" Rimmel, 74, of Dilliner R.D.1 (Moffitt), died Thursday, July 30, 1998, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born October 13, 1923, in Gray's Landing, a son of Joseph and Cora Hughes Rimmel. Mr. Rimmel was a coal miner. He retired from Buckeye Coal Co., Nemacolin Mine, and was a member of UMWA Local 6290. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army military police, and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars. He was a member of American Legion Post 499 and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 747, both in Point Marion. Surviving are his wife, Ann Hoar Rimmel; a son, Charles "Bud" Rimmel of Dilliner; two daughters, Josephine Rawlings of Dilliner and Karen Morris of Greensboro; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Joseph Rimmel; a daughter who died in infancy, Sandra Jean Rimmel; a great-grandson; two sisters, Minnie Anderson and Cora Rimmel; and four brothers, Ralph Mahlon Rimmel, Charles Rimmel, and Leslie and Jasper Rimmel, who died in infancy.
