      Civil War Diary. Entry for 20 Nov 1864. Sunday. Left Clinton at 12 N. Marched to Macon 10 miles. Met the enamy near the city. The Col. ordered me to charge a battery and in the charge my horse was killed & I taken Prisoner and caried into the city and confined in the Military Prison.

      Roll of Prisoners of War Paroled at Camp Sumter, GA Andersonville Ga April 17, 1865. "We, the undersigned, Prisoners of War, do give our Parole of Honor that we will not take up arms again, nor serve a Military Police or Constabulary Force in any Fort, Garrison, or Field-work nor as Guards / of Prisons, Depots, or Stores, nor to discharge any duty usually performed by Soldiers, until exchanged under the provisions of the Cartel entered into July 22, 1862.
