      Deceased Name: Edwin Clare Drier Jr., 75
      Edwin Clare Drier Jr., 75, of Pellston, died May 20, 2008, in McKinley Township.
      The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey with Don Wiertella officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
      Ed was born June 1, 1932, in Emmet County, the son of Edwin Clare and Eva I. (Hoar) Drier Sr., and was raised in Levering. He served his country in both the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserves.
      On May 16, 1953, Ed married Imogene M. Vesely-Cook in Detroit, and she survives.
      Ed worked for 25 years in the Muskegon area and later the Traverse City area as a sheet metal journeyman, retiring after 50 years. He was also co-owner of Mr. Ed's Bar in Pellston.
      Ed was a wonderful man who loved his family with all of his heart; he will be missed.
      He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing cribbage and was a member of the Pellston Masonic Lodge No. 441 for 38 years.
      He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Imogene; three daughters, Linda (Mark) Maass of Pellston, Maureen (Don) Wiertella of Vicksburg, Mich., and Gwen Miller of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, George Cook, of Ocala, Fla.; adopted son, Warren (Melba) Fosmore; a brother, Harold (Shirley) Drier, of Levering; two aunts, Mary Hoar and Doris Drier; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Diot, of Pellston; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Dorothy Drier.
      Memorial donations may be made to the Pellston Masonic Lodge No. 440 F&AM, in care of Kurt Nathan, secretary, P.O. Box 112, Pellston, Mich. 49769.
