Colchester - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. Gladys Hoar Dykema, 80, of Morrison, formerly of Colchester, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. William Leppin will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.
She was born Aug. 6, 1899 in Morehouse, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Lucie Meyers Kline. She first married Edwin W. Hoar Oct. 9, 1920. He died Sept. 6, 1964. She later married Fred J. Dykema on May 9, 1969. He survives.
She is survived by one son, Robert S. Hoar of Arlington Heights ; two stepsons, Victor Dykema of London and Irvin Dykema of Morrison, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jane Hanson of Indianapolis, Ind ; one sister, Mrs. Anna McCoy of Chicago ; two granddaughters ; eight step grandchildren ; nine step great grandchildren ; and two step great great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents ; her first husband ; one brother, one sister ; one step grand daughter and two step great grandchildren.
She was a former resident of Colchester. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society in Morrison, The Royal Neighbors Lodge in Morrison, and the Order of Eastern Star in Morrison. She was also a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and Society Church Groups.
