      HOAR, MARGARET - Mrs. Margaret Elise Hoar, wife of the late Robert Hoar, of Storeytown Road, Doaktown, passed away early in the morning on Friday, September 28, 2012 at her residence at the age of 90. Born in Caledonia, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ida (Goucher) Acker. She was a homemaker, a retired nurse and head cook at Camp Wegesegum. She was a member of the United Church of Canada, a member of the Orange Lodge and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Legion, Branch #23, Doaktown. She is survived by her next of kin, Tony Shute; her daughters, Judy McAllister (David) of Coles Island, NB, and Freda Clark (Murray) of Slave Lake, AB; her son, Rupert Hoar (Gene) of Alder Grove, BC; her sister, Florance Ball (Robert) of Liverpool, NS; her six grandchildren, her 10 great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Olive Mansefield, and her brothers, Ellot Acker and Dennis Acker.
      Mrs. Margaret Elise Hoar rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service was held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11am from the funeral home chapel, Doaktown, with Rev. Paul McGratton officiating. Organist Janice Price led the St Thomas United Church Choir in "How Great Thou Art", "Last Mile of the Way" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Words of Remembrance were by Paul Chappell. Burial was in Fair Haven Cemetery, Moncton. Pallbearers were Eldon McNeill, Douglas Blair, Richard Clark, Nathan Blair, Hayden Clark and Dylan Clark. The Ladies Auxiliary Legion Members formed a guard of Honor. In memory of Margaret, donations made to a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated.       ACKER, Denis Aubrey - 79, Bridgewater, formerly of Caledonia, Queens Co., died October 12, 1997, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Hunters Lodge, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late James Frederick and Ida Agnes (Goucher) Acker. He worked for a number of years with Nova Scotia Power, followed by a number of years in the lumbering industry with Willis Forest Lumber Co. He later worked for Kejimkujik National Park for 10 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Caledonia United Church. He had an avid interest in hunting and carpentry. Surviving are stepdaughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Michael Gregorash), Sandra Frank, Bridgewater; Geraldine Whynacht, Hebbs Cross; stepsons, Russell, Halifax; Wayne, Middlefield; Rickey, Pleasantfield; sisters, Florence (Effie) (Mrs. Robert Ball), Bridgewater; Margaret Hoar, Doaktown, N.B.; brothers, Wilfred Mervyn, Ellot, Caledonia; eight step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Marion Elizabeth MacNutt; sister, Olive. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday in Caledonia United Church, Rev. Elizabeth Hogan officiating. Burial to follow in Highland Cemetery, Hibernia Road, Caledonia. Family flowers only. Donations to Caledonia United Church.
