Griffin, 86, who died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Griffin was born at Long Island, Oct. 29, 1864, the daughter of Joshua and Mary Doughty. She attended Long Island schools and lived on Cliff Island before coming to Portland. She was a nurse for many years on Long Island but for some time had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Grace Woodbury, 136 Kelsey Street, South Portland. She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ira Horr, Long Island; a son Ira W. Griffin, South Portland; a half-brother, Edwin Doughty, Bath; ten grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Lawrence D. Porter will officiate at the funeral services and interment will be in Highland Cemetery, South Portland.
