  [[ Obituary: Robert Martin Malia, 71 PORTLAND -- Robert Martin Malia, formerly known as Robert Martin Horr, 71, passed away at his Portland residence. A lifetime Portland resident, he was born on April 27, 1940, to the late Dana O. and Anna E. (Malia) Horr. Robert served in the Army stationed in Alaska in the 1960s. He served as a volunteer firefighter on Peaks Island and worked at Concrete Forms with his brothers. He married Julie Dalfonso in 1968. He worked at General Electric in South Portland, and for the City of Portland. Later, he worked at Infinity Federal Credit Union. He is survived by his three children, Juliane Hillock and her husband Keith, Martin Malia and his wife Chang and Joshua Malia; as well as five grandchildren, Brooke, Olivia, Julia and Edward Hillock and Nathaniel Hitchcock. He is also survived by three brothers, James Horr, Dana Horr and David Hau and his wife Sharon, two sisters, Margaret Presnell and her husband John, and Shirley D. Horr; a sister-in- law, Barbara Horr; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Richard Horr, William Horr and Anna (Horr) Maynard. A memorial service will held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. He lost mother when he was about 16 months old. With nine of us children, I'm sure he did not get the personal care he needed. We had a wonderful grandmother that stepped in to care for us. She gave all she had to give, a lot of love. She kept us together. We all cared for each other. We all helped in what way we could. I know of no other family that has the closeness we all have for each other. Bob was a wonderful person all his life. He had so much love and kindness. He never showed any anger, just love. I'm going to miss him, but I'm happy for him - He's with Mother, where we all will be someday. May he rest in peace. He is gone from here, but not gone from our hearts.
