      Death
      WYMORE - Helen M. Wood, 81, Wymore, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She was born March 10, 1921, at Elk Creek and moved with her family to Wymore as a small child. She was a 1937 graduate of Wymore High School and married Alvin R. Wood in 1938. She was employed at Parks Produce, Wymore Public Schools and the city of Wymore. She was treasurer for the Wymore Golf Club for several years and was a member of the Wymore United Methodist Church, Violet Chapter 105 Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Anderson Post 25 Auxiliary, Friends of the Wymore Library and was a former school board member. Her hobbies included golf, bridge, and University of Nebraska football.
      Survivors: sons, Larry Wood and wife Martha of Lincoln, Richard Wood and wife Lue of Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren, Christopher Wood, Kelly Wood and wife Patty, Cory Wood and wife Miki, and Robyn Wood; two great-grandchildren; special friend, Ed McClure of Wymore; brothers-in-law, Leo Balcher of Lincoln, Joe Windle of Wymore; nieces and a nephew. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. and I. Marie (Carmine) Hoar; her husband, Alvin R. Wood (June 28, 1978); and a sister, Marjorie Windle.
      Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wymore United Methodist Church, 10th and F streets, Pastor Judith Dye officiating. Burial: Wymore Cemetery. There will be a closed casket visitation at Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore from 12:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday. Memorials to the church and the Wymore Public Library with Elaine Champ and Jackie Nichols in charge. Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, Wymore.
