  [[ Obituary: Hartford Courant, The (CT) - September 30, 1998 Deceased Name: ZAVISZA THOMAS ZAVISZA Thomas Thomas Zavisza, 76 of West Suffield, husband of Eleanor (Hansen) Zavisza, died Tuesday (Sept. 29, 1998). Born in Suffield he was a life- long resident. He was employed by the Pratt & Whitney Div. of United Technologies for 21 years before retiring. He previously had been employed by Granby Cabinet Co. and the Kaman Corp. Mr. Zavisza was a former police officer with the Town of Suffield; a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Suffield and Past Master of the West Suffield Grange. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas and his wife Laureen Zavisza of Suffield, Stephen J. Zavisza of Easthampton, Mass; two daughters Diane R. Mosher of Springfield, Mass; Patricia and her husband John Horr of Granby, CT; a sister Rose Kozlowski of Enfiel d and two grandchildren Justin T. Horr and Rachel F. Horr both of Granby. He was predeceased by three brothers Maximillian Zavisza, Stanley Zavisza, J. Henry Zavisza and a sister Sophie Smeigel. The funeral will be Saturday 10 a.m. at the Calvary Episcop al Church Chapel, 145 Bridge Street, Suffield with burial in Silver Street Cemetery, Granville, Mass. His family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home 443 East St. Suffield. Donations may be made in his memory to th e Suffield Vol. Ambulance Assoc.
