Jones came to California in 1894 and he attended the common schools of San Jose, San Jose high school, graduated from Leland Stanford Junior University in 1902, and from Stanford law school in 1904. A Republican, he was elected State Senator, 28th District on January 2, 1913 and served until 1933. Husband of Pauline Wells and father of Barbara and Elizabeth.
